John Crouch

Consultant

BA (Acc) SA Fin FCA

Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1980, John has worked almost exclusively with small to medium enterprises. Having grown up and worked in rural South Australia, he has developed particularly strong links with the rural community.

John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and is an affiliate of FINSIA.

John's main areas of expertise are in
taxation and business advisory services, including involvement on a number of advisory boards across the agribusiness and retail sectors, as well as succession planning and private wealth management services.

His commitment to the accounting profession is seen in the instrumental role he played in developing the Institute's SA Small Practices Committee, which he also served on for many years. John has also been a committee member of the Institute's Annual CA Business Forum and has chaired many sessions.

Over many years, John has increasingly been involved in advising clients on their succession planning. Some of these families he has had the privilege of working with since he started as a trainee accountant, some 50 years ago.

"We, as a firm, practice what we preach and considered my succession plan for the benefit of our clients and the continuing service and understanding of their needs. Importantly, Brentnalls SA is blessed with a brilliant, young, enthusiastic team of next-generation leaders busting to take over," says John.

John has taken on a consulting role since July 2020, where he can continue to develop relationships with clients and associates, and he looks forward to seeing those continue to evolve with the firm going forward.
