Future SMS communication from the ATO 

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has recently confirmed they will no longer include hyperlinks in unsolicited SMS to prevent phishing scams and enhance trust in ATO communications. The ATO has reported a significant rise in impersonation scams via SMS and email, with a notable shift in scam tactics and demographic targets. The ATO emphasises the importance of not sharing personal information unless necessary and provides resources for reporting and identifying scams.
