Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1980, John has worked almost exclusively with small to medium enterprises.   Having grown up and worked in rural South Australia, he has developed particularly strong links with the rural community. Johns is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and is an affiliate of FINSIA.

John’s main areas of expertise are in taxation and business advisory services to small to medium enterprises including involvement on a number of advisory boards across the agribusiness and retail sectors, together with succession planning and private wealth management services.

His commitment to the accounting profession is seen through the instrumental role he played in developing the Institute’s SA Small Practices Committee which he also served on for many years. John has also been a committee member of the Institute’s Annual CA  Business Forum and has chaired many sessions.

John has a great passion for Little Athletics, where he was involved with for over 15 years, serving 10 years on the Board as Finance Director and ultimately State President of SA Little Athletics.
